First things first

Before I begin, I need you to know about something first so you’ll understand better where I’m coming from. And why this post is written this way. No technical information and no side by side comparison between web hosting companies.

This post is not quite a review about Lyrical Host. Well, it is in a sense, but it’s more of a piece I want to share with the world to show how an independent business (Lyrical Host) is making a massive difference in the community, environment and in the lives of its customers.

I’m the type of person who struggles to operate even a tv remote control. Partly because I don’t watch much tv and so I don’t find the need to learn it.

That’s just to let you know that in this post, I won’t be able to cover anything technical related to web hosting. I’m still learning about technical stuff and I think it will take a little bit of time.

You know, those things like webspace, servers, SSL certificate, DNS, back up and migration? I only know the most basic info about them.

I hope this will be the best day of your blogging/business life too. Just like what happened to me after learning about Lyrical host in 2021. It was truly one of the best things that happened that year.

I first heard of Lyrical Host from Kimi Kinsey whom I refer to as The Internet Godmother.

I’m not sure if she approves this term but I call her that because she was like a fairy godmother when I first came into her world. Just so loving and nice and so helpful. I was amazed at how generous she is and how much helpful information she gives to her people.

She is just so genuine and so kind and helpful whether you are in her community or not. I learned her Product Ecosystem and she inspired me how to serve my people in the best way possible.

As a result, I have been so intentional with the creation of my Digital Products in order to serve my people better.

In the first week of finding out about her, I binged her blog posts for days and that’s how I discovered Lyrical Host.

Fast forward…

About a couple of months ago, I was talking to my blogger friend Dee and I said, even if someone pays me money to go to other hosting provider, I will not and I won’t move to another hosting. (Well, no one is really asking me to switch, but just in case I come across a great review of another hosting, I’m sure I won’t even be tempted to switch)

I have everything I need right now to move the needle.

Not saying I won’t be needing anything more to grow. But realising this message from one of her posts inspired me to be more intentional with the learning and the doing parts of blogging at the present season I am in.

So now, I’m ok with missing out on other things while I am focusing on a few things that would help me move the needle.

I decided to temporarily pause consuming courses and resources so that I can focus more on learning SEO. As a result, I’ve met my goal of publishing 4 blog posts a week in January and I will continue until the end of Quarter 1.

I don’t have to do all the things, like social media and videos

Social media is kind of touch and go for me, and I can’t say I love it but I don’t hate it either. So let’s just say it’s useful for me in certain ways. So, when I saw her post, I felt so relieved. I don’t feel guilty anymore that I’m not using social media to get traffic. For now I am happy with navigating SEO, it’s a “slow-burn” strategy and I’m happy with it.

With videos, I would love to do it and I’m going to learn in when I have time.

Superb customer service and great technical support for your peace of mind

I know I said I won’t talk about tech stuff but this post is incomplete without mentioning my migration experience with Lyrical Host.

But let me share first my experience with the previous hosting company.

(Note, if you somehow know this previous hosting company, I’m not sharing this to badmouth about them. This is just me sharing my experience and it doesn’t change the fact that it’s tech people tried their best to help me. And I’m grateful for them).

Let’s go back a bit from the beginning.

I started a blog with zero knowledge. I didn’t know anything about blogging as in I wasn’t even familiar with the common terms that most people know. (Yeah, that bad)

So I went for a hosting that most bloggers recommend. Let’s call them B*. (not the bad word it’s a good colour actually).

Remember what I said earlier? I could not even operate a tv remote control properly? So imagine me with setting up a new website with zero experience on web designs. Setting up the website and maintaining it was such a struggle at the beginning. I crashed my website 3 times.

Once the “website crashing galore” ended, another technical issue occurred and honestly I don’t even know what it was. B* could not help me permanently. All the fixes were just temporary.

So for more than 3 months I was always stressed on weekends because of tech issues. Logging in to my WordPress dashboard was a nightmare. I spent so many Sundays dealing with tech issues. Weekends were used for constantly chatting with their support people. Some days I would spend 3 hours, some 5 hours, one was 7 hours. It came to a point where I gave up and I was just happy if I could just log in properly.

Superb customer service

The above story is the exact opposite when I switched to Lyrical Host.

When I went to the Lyrical Host website to have a look, I wasn’t actively looking to switch immediately because I’ve given up with B* and I’ve already paid for 3 years of hosting. So I looked only to satisfy my curiosity.

But Lyrical Host website won me in less than 3 minutes of reading about the migration process, the pricing and the resources. I was like. I am switching. I would happily kiss goodbye to the money I paid to B*.

The truth?

Even when I was just enquiring, the LH staff left a great impression already.

I felt valued even though I wasn’t a customer yet. The staff was so patient with my somewhat random and unorganised questions. Such a good experience. I paid to switch on the same day.

The migration process was so smooth. Joseph briefly explained the process and he answered all my questions. It was such a premium service and for once I felt my website is in good hands.

I was advised what to expect during the migration. He did what he said he would do at a particular time-frame so it meant the migration didn’t disrupt my normal blogging schedule.

What I will always remember and appreciate is the way I was informed every step of the way until the migration was completed. There was a time difference and so it was so nice to wake up with an email letting me know where the migration was at.

Of course, I recommended Lyrical Host to my friends even before the migration finished. That’s how big the impact of great customer service and support could make.

It’s my 9th month now with Lyrical Host and the old tech issue with previous hosting is gone for good. I’m a happy blogger and I have a peace of mind. Hosting and tech stuff are one less thing I need to worry about.

Instead of dealing with system issues, I spend my time now learning about blogging. Lyrical Host gives me space and time to nourish my creativity and serve my people instead of worrying about my website.

The tech support people are always happy to help and you could sense it with the way they answer queries. I’ve asked for helped many times and most of them are ‘user-related” but I felt I was served well.

When I said Lyrical Host is more than just a hosting company, I meant it literally and figuratively.

I learned from people from their facebook group, monthly news letters, and their resources (free and paid).

If you’re a customer of Lyrical Host, you are a Lyrical Host family member. And it’s such a great feeling to belong in this community for so many reasons.

Facebook Community

The FB community alone is so worth it. The Members are so supportive, respectful and kind to each other. It has a “give more than what you take” vibe which I think is so beautiful. Seriously, people there are so nice. In fact, this post is encouraged by one of it’s beautiful members.

They are bloggers and business owners where the experiences and successes vary, yet when you step in that community you won’t feel so small or intimidated to ask for help when you need one. Everyone there is willing to help.

You’ll love it there for sure.

The fb group is fun, interactive and a safe place to be. They have contests in different occasions and seeing posts about someone who received a pizza or a cake gives such a positive feeling.

Honest and transparent pricing

Lyrical Host Pricing is the clearest and most straightforward I have ever found. No need to go back and forth thinking about what type of hosting plan you would go for. All you need to consider is how many websites you’re hosting.

Just look at how organised this pricing table is. Also what you see is what you get type of thing. No nasty surprises with the cost. They communicate well when there would be an increase. The last one made me appreciate them even more.

I am well aware that this post may come across as super positive and borderline “I-am-too-obsessed-with-lyrical-host-it’s-hard-to-believe-all-of-these” but this is my experience and my opinion of them. I’m also a person by nature who always finds good first than bad so maybe it’s that too.

That being said, I’m not implying that Lyrical Host is a perfect company. (in my eyes they are, but am sure they would disagree with me).

No one and nothing is perfect. That’s true.

Well except for the migration done by Joseph. It was so perfect and seamless it made my previous experience worth it.
