Gratitude Quotes to get you unstuck
Hey Gorgeous.
This post could have not been more timely.
The first 3 weeks of my December have been crazy. Been dropping the balls here and there. Just last night, I accidentally wiped my photos and files on my phone just before my scheduled manual back up. Ouch!
I encourage you to save this post for when you feel you are out of sort or when you are feeling stuck. This is not going to be the only solution but it will help you go through what you need to go through.
You may already know that this blog is to document my journey towards having an intentional lifestyle one week at a time. A journey that I hope to be your journey too.
The ultimate purpose is to bring you along in this journey by sharing all the ups and downs and everything in between. This includes the lessons I pick up along the way.
Today, I am going to share with you Gratitude Quotes. This collection will hopefully inspire you to practise gratitude if you haven’t started yet.
Why practise Gratitude?
“Gratitude, thankfulness, or gratefulness, from the Latin word gratus ‘pleasing, thankful’, is a feeling of appreciation felt by and/or similar positive response shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favors, or other types of generosity, towards the giver of such gifts” . Source
Another definition of Gratitude is : “The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness”. Source

Having an attitude of gratitude is really important in our day to day life. It might not be obvious, but just a few seconds of being grateful and really feeling it makes a big difference
This is not to say that Gratitude will solve all our problems instantly. However, it is important to remember that being grateful has a massive impact on how we deal with challenging situations.
Practising gratitude, helps us reframe our thoughts. When we are grateful, we can change the way we see things and when we do that we can change how we feel to a certain extent.
Whenever we find ourselves stuck, having an attitude of gratitude will help us get unstuck. But how E? You may ask.
Gratitude can help us reframe our thoughts. When we are feeling stuck, we see things through different lenses. By being grateful, we can proactively choose which lens to use. Therefore we may be able to change what we see by changing slightly how we look at them.
Even a little shift on how we see things can have a big impact on how we feel about what’s in front of us.
This could mean we can think clearly and be in the right mindset to move forward and eventually find a solution for whatever we are struggling with.
Gratitude to get you unstuck

As I have mentioned at the beginning, I have been dropping the balls here and there. My last 3 weeks have been out of whack. I was behind in everything except for my work.
I missed important emails that should have been actioned. My blog posts have been published a few days after the scheduled publish dates.
At the end of November, I finally decided to bite the bullet and work 4 days instead of 3 days. I have been so lucky to work in a company who really looks after its employees.
They have been so accommodating with my family circumstance. They let me choose to work part-time while the kids are in primary school. In fact, I have been on a permanent part time position since M was 2 years old.
Just one week into the new work roster and I noticed I was slowly going off the tracks. Then, onto the second week, I knew I had completely dropped the ball. I felt stuck. It seemed that no matter what I do, I could not get on top of things.
So I thought, I had to stop. I needed to regroup. Thus I took the 2 weeks break.
Gratitude things are not going well

When things are becoming too much, Writing down our thoughts can be a good start to get through challenging situations.
When our thoughts are on paper, it becomes a little easier to see things as they are instead of seeing them based on what our brain tells us.
I have learned two useful tips on how to go through rough times.
- Write down what happened. Just identify them. No self-judgement and thinking ahead of what you should do next.
- Then try to reframe your thoughts. Look at what happened from a different angle.
Kuya missed the picnic but he was able to spend extra day with me alone while M was in kindy. He doesn’t get much solo time with me.
I may have lost my Tuesday off work but this means I work shorter hours on a daily basis.
I might have not been consistent with my routines for the last three weeks but it gave me a chance to be spontaneous and try a different approach in getting things done.
The past three weeks have been “blah” but I had a chance to reset.
I got nothing done for my posts but I was able to work on my goals in growing this blog.
Losing my photos and files stressed me out few minutes after it happened but I was able to let go. The photos were extremely meaningful to me and I won’t never have them again but I am going to try keep them in me. In my heart.
Most importantly, this taught me a lesson. My current system with backing up photos and files is not working and I need to reassess and improve my system.
Gratitude Quotes
I collected Gratitude Quotes for you. If you don’t need them now, keep them for when you need inspiration and something to hold on to.

Remembering what we have will remind us how lucky we are in so many ways.

Being kind to our loved ones is also being grateful for having them in our lives.

When we feel grateful, we are content.

It is amazing how a simple “Thank you’ can make someones’ day.

Expressing how grateful we are in everything and anything is a great way to practise an attitude of gratitude.

There is always good in almost everything. We just have to actively look for them.
Gratitude, moving forward
May the gift of gratitude serves you well as it serves me in the last three weeks ( and all the other times I felt out of sort).
I am really hoping that in case you have not done so, you would give this practice a go. It really is more than saying thank you. Appreciate yourself, and the people around you. Every experience and emotion we go through.
Being grateful made me realise that I am lucky to have what I have. Family, friends, time and resources and even the wisdom that I get to share with you every week. I am grateful I have discovered this passion project that enables me to express my gratitude on a different level.
Thank you for being with me when my hearts is full and when my hearts is aching just like in the last 3 weeks.
Thank you for coming by when you can and I wish you joy and contentment no matter what seasons of your life you are in.
I appreciate you more than you will ever know.
Much love,
E
